day 27 & 28 - dali, farewell party and clubbing

Day 27...

Today's activities were optional. And of course all the cool kids went ;) We went to the Salvador Dali Museum.  I'm not the biggest Dali fan. Actually, he's on the bottom of my list. But once again, the museum fairy has blessed my eyes with appreciation and love for a not liked artist, this time Señor Dali. Something I never thought would happen and it did. Something I really admire about Dali as an artist was how experimental he was. All you really see when studying him in art history is his work like Persistence of Memory. You don't ever see his other work like his pen and ink and watercolor, etc... I loved his other work. His creativity is so inspiring. He would take ideas and run with them. And he was all over the place, it was incredible.

After the museum, we walked around the town and went to eat. The town was adorable, very "spanish". And the restaurant was great. All the restaurants I've been to so far are so friendly! I don't know if I've had awesome good luck or if it's just the culture, but I really like it.

We took the 2 hour plus train ride home and I slept the majority of the way (apparently through a lot of commotion and a lot of people, I must be one talented sleeper). When I woke up, Rick and I had a great conversation that eventually led to how I'm going to meet my future love through Cesar Millan, the dog whisperer. I'm excited for that to happen.

When we got home, we had another family dinner with the leftovers from the night before. Spaghetti. Yummy. Clark set up candles and a fern in a nice arrangement on the table to make dinner that much better. What a great guy. He's such a romantic and I love it.

Wanna know a secret that's not going to be a secret anymore? After dinner, some of the girls and I went clubbing. Bah ha ;) It was basically amazing. I had the best time. Seriously. It was such a classy club, too, not trashy at all. Some of the girls that I went with who club often said that it was the best club they've ever been to. We danced until it closed and then watched the sunrise on the beach. It was such a great night, one of the best. And one of the highlights? I danced/hung out with a beautiful, beautiful frenchman from Marseille for a good chunk of the night. He kissed me on the cheek :) (everyone was mad I didn't mac his face off haha, ya, that's not gonna happen). But wow, such a great night!

Onto day 28...

After about an hour and a half of sleeping, Tia, Mirielle and I headed off to church. However, after about 45 minutes of searching, we gave up trying to find the building and accepted failure. So we went back home instead and I went back to bed.

I spent the rest of the day editing and getting ready for our photo final and dinner party.
We had the best dinner party. It was a last hoo-ha hoorah, farewell send off party. Bittersweet. John and Courtney bought us dinner and we all ate and laughed and had a really good time. It was an amazing night with people that I've gotten to be such good friends with. I can't believe that the program is already over. I can't believe this trip went by so fast. This has been a life changing experience and I'm heartbroken that it's already over. I've gotten so close to everyone in the program. I'm so sad that I won't be waking up every morning with Mirielle and Tia. I'm going to miss family dinners and hanging out. I'm going to miss all of it.
We gave Courtney and John little books that everyone had written notes in. Courtney started crying and John was so sweet about accepting it. It was an emotional night. I love John and Courtney so much, they have impacted my life in such an enormous and life changing way. I could never thank them enough for what they've done for me as an artist and an individual.
Sigh. Okay, enough of that.

We went to desert afterwards because it was Cassie's birthday. John and Courtney met up with us and it was so much fun. John and Courtney ended up paying for everyone, it was so sweet of them.
After desert, we went back to the club, he he :) More girls, more fun! I didn't dance the night away this time, I went home a little earlier because I was so tired.

I'm going to miss everyone so much. I'm still in Europe for a few more days, but everyone else except a handful of us has gone home. It's sad... I'm so grateful for this experience though. I have learned so much from this trip that I could never have learned in any other way. Like I mentioned before, it has been life changing. My vision as an artist has changed for the better in so many ways and I'm that much better because of it.

Ps- For those reading this, thanks for reading my blog :)
